- Time
- About ten minutes. Each statement is scored from zero to ten, and your results appear the moment you finish.
- Scoring
- Each of the six drivers totals its four statements, so it scores out of 40. The total runs to 240.
- The Report
- A written report on request, read personally, with the priorities to focus on and a 90-day plan.
How Does Your Company Measure Up to a Buyer?
Answer based on your company as it is today, not as you wish it were or as it was six months ago. Score the business the way a buyer would, on what is documented and verifiable rather than on what you know to be true. If you are torn between two scores, take the lower one. The gap you are hedging about is the one diligence will find.

Questions Founders Ask About the Business Exit Readiness Assessment.
Straight answers on what the assessment measures, how the scoring works, and what to do with the results once the scores are in.
What does the Business Exit Readiness Assessment measure?
It measures how ready the company is to run, and sell, without the founder at the center. The 24 statements cover the six drivers of transferable value a buyer examines in diligence: processes, KPIs and forecasts, sales and marketing, people and clients, planning systems, and values and culture. Low scores point to the things a buyer would discount from the price.
How long does the assessment take?
About ten minutes. There are 24 short statements, mixed rather than grouped by driver, and the scores appear the moment the last one is answered. No email is needed to see them. Answer based on the company as it is today, the way a buyer would see it, on what is documented and verifiable rather than on what you know to be true.
How is the assessment scored?
Each statement is rated from 0 to 10, where 0 means not true at all and 10 means completely true. The four statements in each driver add up to a score out of 40, read in bands of 8 from weak to strong, and the six drivers add up to a total out of 240. The pattern across the six matters more than the total, because the lowest driver is usually the one to work on first.
What is in the full report, and is it free?
Yes, the full report is free. It is a written analysis, read personally and personalized to your answers, covering all six drivers, the current strengths and weaknesses, the priorities to focus on, and a 90-day implementation plan. Request it with a name and email after scoring. Because every report is read by a person, it takes a few days rather than arriving instantly.
How is this different from the Founder Exit Readiness Assessment?
This assessment scores the company. The Founder Exit Readiness Assessment scores the founder: finances, motivation, family, identity, and what comes next. A sale needs both. A company that is ready to sell with an owner who is not tends to stall late in the process, so most founders planning an exit take both and compare the results.
What should I do with my results?
Start with the lowest-scoring driver, since that is where a buyer is most likely to push the price down. When the scores show real gaps, VALUE10X is the program that builds business valuation and closes them before a sale. A strategy call is the place to talk through the results and the timeline, and Prepare Your Exit covers the full exit planning picture.
